Eega Review : 'Never seen before film in Indian cinema': Rating 4/5

Story

Sudeep (Sudeep) is a rich businessman with lot of villain shades. He
do everything to get success. He even kills or cheats his own friends
if required. He sets his eyes on Indhu (Samantha), a miniature
sculpture artist and social worker. On the other hand Indhu is in love
with Nani (Nani), but she hides her love and pretends to ignore Nani.
But Nani is mad of Indhu and follows her. Sudeep realises that Indhu
is in love with Nani. He then kills Nani. Nani reborns as 'Eega'
(housefly). He remembers the incidents that took place in his last
birth. How will 'Eega' takes his revenge on the villain forms the rest
of the story.

Performances

The Animated 'fly' is the hero in the film. The film is like a Tom &
Jerry fight between the villain and the fly

The on screen pairing of Samantha and Nani is fresh and sizzling.
Though Nani appears only in the first half, he impresses us with his
perfect comedy timing.

Samantha is pretty and suits the role perfectly. However, the glamour
role of Samantha is less when compared with her previous movies. She
did a performance oriented role with Eega. This is also the first time
Samantha did a movie where the focus is more on her rather than the
hero.

Sudeep is the top performer of the movie. He is one of the top actors
in Kannada cinema. He is also well established as a director.
Accepting role of a villain needs lot of guts, which he has. This is
definitely one of the lifetime special role to Sudeep. Sudeep has
performed the role with ease and perfection.

Taagubothu Ramesh's comedy sequence brings lot of laugh.

Aditya and Santhanam(Tamil) also justified their role well, though
they appears only in few scenes they make a mark.

Analysis

Crazy Mohan's hilarious dialogues , screenplay by Rajamouli -
Janardhan Maharshi, Keeravani's music , K. K. Senthil Kumar's camera
works and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing are highlights in the
movie. All of them made 'Eega' a rich quality product.

Rajamouli's used the special effects in the right way without any over
dose. He narrated the story "How can a housefly take revenge?" in a
excellent way. It is sure that it is a never seen before in Indian
cinema where an housefly behaves in such a realistic fashion. The film
has all the elements like love, sentiment and humour along with
fantasy.
